Painter, draftsman, illustrator, caricaturist and journalist. He was born in 1929 on the right bank of the wide Orinoco. Between 1945 and 1947 he studied Plastic and Applied Arts in Caracas. He was part of the Taller Libre de Arte Group in Caracas between 1948 and 1952.

At the beginning of the fifties he traveled to Rome, where he remained until 1952. Between 1952 and 1957 he lived and worked in Paris, France.

Between 1958 and 1959 he served as Founding Director of the School of Plastic Arts at the Universidad de los Andes, Mérida. He was a Professor of painting at the Cristóbal Rojas School of Visual Arts from 1959 to 1982.

He has exhibited individually and collectively throughout Venezuela, as well as in Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, Cuba, Guyana, Aruba, Bonaire, Brazil, Italy, United States, Iraq, Chile, France, Haiti, Bulgaria, Germany, Guadeloupe, Bolivia, Israel, Trinidad and Tobago, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Spain, Russian Federation, Canada and Germany.

He participated three times in the Salon of Graphic Humor of Alcalá de Henares and is a Doctor Honoris Causa of this magnificent institution. He exhibited in the Auditorium of the University of Salamanca a set of watercolors “Ciertos Animales Criollos”, in tribute to the Venezuelan writer and historian Don Guillermo Morón, in 1993.

In October 2018, he participated at the Houston Museum of Arts (USA) in a large exhibition on the development of Venezuelan art of all trends from 1955 to 1975.
