Laurence Jenkell (JENK)

Laurence Jenkell, alias JENK, Knight of the French Order of Arts and Letters, is a self-taught French contemporary artist known worldwide for her Wrapping Candy sculptures.Born on December 31, 1965, she lives and works on the Côte d'Azur and opened in 2022 a workshop-gallery in Monaco to exhibit her artworks.

She began her artistic journey in the mid-1990s where she experimented different techniques allowing her to master plexiglass and create her technique of torsion “wrapping”. Thanks to her wrapping technique : literally the rolling of the material on itself associated with the twist of the foil, she created the Candy sculpture, which has become her artistic signature.

For nearly 20 years, JENK has been sculpting brightly colored candies in different shapes and sizes in materials such as bronze, plexiglass, aluminum, marble, polyester, wood or even Murano glass.
