Born in Barcelona, Anzoátegui state, in 1904. Doctorate in law at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. He studied at the Academia de Bellas Artes de Caracas. He was a diplomat in Rome, Paris and the U.S., on par with a career exhibition. In Caracas made the first mural for the Capitol Federal (1953) and the Armed Forces Circle (1956). His work is characterized by a design very close to Renaissance forms "full of Americans where the racial symbolism and myth are expressed through sculptural figures of naked men and women idealized tropical sensuality"(Dictionary of Visual Arts Venezuela, vol I, Monte Avila Editores, 1982. p. 90). He died in Caracas in 1982.
