Venezuelan Masters: Joaquín Caicedo

Joaquín Caicedo was born in Guaira, Distrito Federal, in 1915. He was a student of Marcos Castillo, Rafael Ramón González, Francisco Narváez and Luis Alfredo López Méndez, in the free courses of the School of Plastic and Applied Arts of Caracas, in 1939. Ten Years later he made his first individual at the Hogar Hogarno (Caracas). He was one of the founders of the Venezuelan Association of Independent Plastic Artists. After having gone through a stage of social realism, from 1955 he followed the guidelines of the landscape school of the city of red roofs.
